Blade: The blade appears to be shortened. The tang has one Ana. This blade dates to the Shinto period (1600 - 1780).

NAGASA: 21.4 inches. (asia 24sz)

Mounting: The sheath Saya is made of fabric coated wood showing an appealing golden decoration with butterflies and water wheels. The scabbard tip Kojiri is made of gilt Shakudo and features a dragon. The Sukashi - open work - Shakudo tsuba shows an elegant water lily design. The ferrule Fuchi as well as the buttcap Kachira are also made of Shakudo and again we see dragons. The hilt is coated with Same ray skin and has a fine Ito hilt binding. Underneath the Ito we find a Menuki on each side, made of copper. One can be identified as a warrior, the other as an Oni.

Total length is 37 inches.
