Participate on a semi-centralized DBA team (partnering with DBA resources in the US) responsible for administering most of the internal Oracle and SQL-Server databases in the non-production and production environments. The primary role of this position is for the Senior DBA to serve as the Lead DBA technically and lead and mentor the India DBA staff.
• Minimum of 4-5 years proven DBA experience in Oracle. Exposure to Oracle
Applications and SQL-Server is helpful.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a DBA team.
• SUN Solaris 8, 9 (10 is helpful), Unix Shell Scripting is helpful
• Ability to lead and mentor Junior DBA’s.
• Responsible for the overall stability, performance, security and recoverability of the
Oracle/SQL-Server databases.
• Ensure all database backups are scheduled and executing successfully.
• Develop and implement the technical procedures and standards for preserving the
integrity and security of the Oracle/SQL-Server databases.
• Establish, coordinate, and maintain databases and database environments for
testing, production, training, and user demonstration.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of Oracle/SQL-Server and the database as a
unit.
• Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for all database
systems.
• Conducts disaster recovery tests.
• Participate in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits as they pertain to database controls.
