Jimmy Thang
"Music is the medium through which I maintain my communion with God".
Having grown up with the sheer love of music, Jimmy has come to conclude
with the above phrase. This life is a journey indeed, and for Jimmy it is
through the vehicle of music. From early on he has had his touch with music
being a part of the singing troupe even in prep school. Then growing up being
part of church choirs and winning prizes in school which goes on to college
and continues to the day.... As Jimmy clearly says that he is "A lifetime
student of music", the learning never stops.
Talking of experiences: Places like HAZE, DV8, TURQUOISE COTTAGE,
WE 2, AGNI, 32nd MILESTONE, CHINESE AND THAI CAFE, CAFE
MORRISON, MITTAL FARMS, BLUES, MEZZ, OBEROIS, TAJ, SAFFIRE,
RADISSON, DLF city club, PALMS COUNTRY CLUB, and CROWNE PLAZA
TODAY.
Besides Jimmy has lent his voice for a couple of ads and studio projects,
working with studios like BUTTER studios, PAINTED SOUNDS, SPINNING
BUDDHA, and a whole host of studios run all around the city. He is also
currently working on setting up his own home studio.
Another field :
Having taught Schools like, SHALOM HILLS,
PUMPKIN HOUSE, ANAND PRE-SCHOOL,
THEME MUSIC SCHOOL, MMI Gurgaon and
currently DPS Gurgaon, he not only has taught
but also inspired and worked with the faculties in
musical projects and composed and lent his voice
in the anthems of some of them. He is currently teaching at a Music School
called “musictek” in Sushant Lok 1, Gurgaon..
Set up
Following clips are while setting up and actual performance later.
It will be basically a two-piece Band.
Instruments: Guitar, Keyboards.
Sound set-up: one mixer, one amplifier, one speaker.
We sing and play the guitar over the pre-recorded tracks that will serenade
from the keyboard. These are very high quality tracks that the Band has
painstakingly worked on and spent a great deal of their time on. The tracks
have been recorded and re-worked over time to make the experience still
feel like a Live Band playing. In fact, the music at best sounds nothing less
than a Live Band performing.
Genre
Owing to the varied tastes of the esteemed customers and experience,
almost all genres are covered by the Band, that is what makes the Band
special too. One moment there’d be blues song by Tracy Chapman, the next
one could be a rock song by Maroon 5. One moment a song by the Beatles
would be played, the next could be a song by the Backstreet Boys or a Jazz
standard like “Ain’t no sunshine”.
So not only is the music ideal for all kinds of music tastes, it also can even
serve as good background music when the guests are probably busy in
conversations too!
